The Rix Family Alliance was formed in 1979 by the mutual agreement of four Rix families and has developed into an association of persons born, descended from, or acquiring by marriage, the surname Rix. The object of the Alliance is to promote and maintain an interest in the history of the Rix families through research, discussion and friendly cooperation.

It's aims are to collect, collate and disseminate all information concerning the surname RIX and its phonetic variants from all sources worldwide.

There is an annual gathering,usually in June. The AGM is held during the gathering. Families and friends of members are welcome to attend.
